God Never Told You Poem by Randy McClave

God Never Told You

God never told you to sin
That was your own choice,
You never once said an "Amen"
You always listened to the wrong voice.
And you always avoided a Christening,
While God was always there watching and listening.

God never told you to lie or cheat
That was you wanting to be deceitful and greedy,
You never gave the hungry food to eat
And you never helped the poor or the needy.
When you was out there hustling and winning,
You was also out there sinning.

God never told you to judge
That was your very own decision,
You were the one that wanted to hold a grudge
You saw it in your own vision.
When you were there being hateful and weak,
That wasn't God who you heard speak.

God never told you to kill
Not once did those words did he ever say,
But, he did tell you to help others heal
And then for your enemies he told you to pray.
The lord said those who live by the sword will die by it,
Those words we should not ever forget.

God never told you to get even
He told you to always to forgive,
And he always told you that you were forgiven
In his words and commandments he wants you to live.
God won't send you to Hell which is true,
But, you will send you.
