I saw numerous eyes
soak in sorrow yet
forcing themselves
to smile to passing
ship this morning
I can remember some
I was like them once
I muster a few smile
as I walk length of pier
my feet heavy; my heart
quiet to tune of music
cheering crowds goodbye
while kids run around
gentle, innocent while
their loving moms cry
