Gone In A Flash Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

Gone In A Flash

Rating: 5.0

I stand up to admire my work.
I knew this would be big,
but I really didn't expect so much.

It is colossal! Humongous!
"This may be a world record, " I think.
"I didn't know I had it in me! "

I take another step back,
but before I can get my cell phone
out of my pocket to take a picture

that automatic flushing mechanism
kicks in, and in another moment
it is gone forever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
True story.

Happened at Wal-Mart.

Should have made the Guinness Book of World Records.

Could have called this "Gone in a Flush" but that would have given away the ending too soon.

Sorry, no picture with this one. As I said, I didn't get my cell phone out in time.

I think ego would actually have worked as a topic for this! ! ! Susan, I actually had a topic starting with every letter of the alphabet except x, but they didn't all show up when the poem got posted. There must be a limit.

This little verse is so, so funny, and it doesn't take long to figure out what he's talking about. Still, haven't we all felt like this at least one time? ? ? ?
