Ground Hog Day 2019 Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Ground Hog Day 2019

Rating: 4.5

Today is Groundhog day
February second two thousand nineteen
I'm at my desk, watching television screen
Waiting to see Punxsutawney Phil.
This tradition began in 1886
In a small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
German settlers brought their home tradition there
Gobbler's Knob has been this famous Groundhog's tunnel.
Groundhog Day has been an international festival
Which brought a lot of fun to Americans and Canadians.
Now just six thirty in the morning
Air temperature is around one degree Fahrenheit.
Many thousand people gather around for fun.
Fireworks explode in the air about six forty in the morning.
A lot of roaring, hand clasping and music blasting.
Finally Groundhog Phil came out with his 133th prediction:
"Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow"
Which means there will be an early spring.
