Guardian Angels Poem by Laquory Jones

Guardian Angels

A Little girl named Rachel is somewhere by
Her bed as she begins to pray she looks
Through the window at the sky wondering if
A God exist and as she sees a flying
Comet pass her eyes she closes them and
Makes a wish somewhere in her room she
Has a Christmas List hoping that she gets every
Thing she wants because she has been good
Doing everything she should as life tries to
Bring her down not knowing guardian angels
Are always around and love is what she found
Somewhere on the other side of the world
There's this couple repeatedly in trouble a
Modern day Bonnie and Clyde but no one
Knows the pain they keep inside as others
Are on the outside looking in they start to
Get hooked on drugs their families starting
To bug and slowly erase them from the family
Tree and lets them be because to them there
Are no interventions for the lost soul once your
Soul becomes icy cold so as the story unfolds
You see their faces begins to sink no more
Brain cells on the mind so they can barely think
As they look at themselves in the mirror but
No one knows the pain they carry the burden is
Heavy deep down they lost their hope no longer
Can they cope everyday seems like life gave them
Too thin of a rope (Living life with a bit of hope? Nope)

Their little girl died on Christmas day so they ran
Out of words to say and each one of them pins
The blame on each other the desperation of a mother
And her abusive and demeaning lover sadly over
Time they lose their will to live no more
love to truly give as the drugs gets too much
And ruin their life they look for someone to bail
Them out or iron out all the winkles as they
Slowly begin to fade everything around them begin
To gray not ever forgetting that day you never know
What people go through behind the scenes so I come
To them in a dream as they see their daughter's
Face in their sleep they both begin to smile
Even if there's only a little hope that their
Daughter will one day return at least they
Can both truly see that their daughter is in a
Better place and on Christmas day they set presents
Aside just doing everything they can just to get
By and as she looks in her Mother's eyes she
Sees the twinkle and her Mother's face as
She imagines her embrace her mother sees the
Wings as her daughter whispers ' don't cry and
Keep your head up high' and just then
The pain goes away as her parents
Searches for a better day they kneel
Down and begin to pray.
