Guiding Me Along The Right Path Poem by Paula Glynn

Guiding Me Along The Right Path

An unknown holy force guides me
Unattainable money waits for me
But not blood money:
Money that is instead made from wisdom
And following the wise rules
Of the holy God above

Important factors guide me:
Respect, passion, wisdom
Unselfish heroic happiness
Unselfish kind love
That does guide me from above
My guardian angel feathers falling

In a scattering on the ground
God having sent my guardian angel
To show me he is always there
Not telling me what to do
But warning me before I tempt the devil
And make a terrible mistake

I wake every sunny morning
I drink my caffetterie coffee
I eat my muesli with milk
I thoroughly shower to wake up
And put on stylish and elegant clothes
I wear practical - yet top designed - shoes

I travel on the exciting bus
I travel on the packed train
I travel on 21st century airplanes
I travel by fast electric cars
I travel along the river or sea by boat
I travel up high by cable car

I come home after my working day
I take off my hard working shoes
I change into comfortable lounge clothes
I prepare and eat my HelloFresh dinner
I tidy and clean my kitchen
I watch television for a few hours

I love the intricate and vibrant Internet
I love reading my library books
I love going to my enjoyable book club
I love watching YouTube music videos
I love watching YouTube animals videos
I love painting pictures at valuable art classes

I even travel abroad:
Knowing how to speak basic French
How to navigate the New York subway
Also loving going to Germany and Spain
Walking underneath the hot sun in Lanzarote
And spending time in warm Greece and cold Ireland

I go to church every Sunday morning
The priest's sermon one hour long
The forgiving church where I belong
Telling the priest in private confession
The mistakes I have made:
Where I've gone completely wrong

But I do not play the martyr
I do not preach the holy bible
I simply allow myself to be guided
Along the difficult path known as life
Time inevitable but also necessary
For as I grow older I know God waits with love.
