Acid attack on individuals are reported often in India. But acid rains caused largely by burning of fossil fuels is an acid attack on the face of nature, and our Mother Earth. More, any pollutant released to the air is sure to reach the oceans, as David has pointed out and then our blood.

Another side of acid rain is the acidification of our oceans. The fish people eat is contaminated with mercury. Mercury is natural, but the burning of fossilfuels it hits the oceans as methyl mercury which is absorbed by fish.
