He Was One Of A Kind Poem by Marilyn Lott

He Was One Of A Kind

I never met another person
With a personality the same
A smile is on my face
Every time I hear his name.

Everyone is much better off
If they met this wonderful guy
Laid back and spontaneous
On that you could always rely.

His sense of humor was such fun
Sometimes he had a silly grin
Other times he was completely deadpan
For that was the way with him.

He pushed the envelope for years
For heart disease was in his genes
His family all so special to him
His love knew no boundaries it seems.

As a traveling companion he was
As delightful as he could be
The four of us drove to Mississippi one year
Fun memories will always stay with me.

He is gone now, we all sure miss him
A more special person we'll never find
For this guy was someone
Who was definitely one of a kind!

Great description of a friend that can't be replaced. Thanks for reminding us of this often ignored fact. Marilyn. James
