Is this the land the one that I call my country?
For my eyes see people who are poor and hungry.
Begging for food, there in the streets I see them lie
Just for the little assurance that they won’t die.
O my brethren! What is this world that we have made?
The riches we once possessed, did it really fade?
I can see foreigners buying illegally
The possessions that should not be their property!
O Filipinos! When shall you wake from your rest?
Law-breakers are now enjoying your nation’s best!
When shall you prioritize your only country?
Don’t let your love for it be bartered for money!
To catch your ears, on the highest mountain I cry
To wake you up from your sleep or else your will die.
Hear me O hearken! Listen to the words I say
So that the promised change will be ours and shall stay.
