Heart! Stop your longing!
It is not your place to keep me awake at night!
Just sit there, heavy in my chest,
And keep your foolish dreams to yourself!

Heart! Cease your aching!
It is not for you to decide the object of my desire!
Put out the fire you are pumping,
And cool the furnace in your galloping beat!

Heart! Quit your whining!
She is not yours to want and have!
Love her, if you must,
But let her be, until she find her way to me!

Heart! Don't listen to me!
It is not for me to dictate, to reason with you
You only know what you want,
And I should know, never to ask you why...
