Heaven's Spent Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Heaven's Spent

Rating: 5.0

No tears left in Heaven
For the world's misbegotten
No cries left in Heaven
For the children starvin'
No sighs left in Heaven
For all those forgotten

No more life in Heaven
For this earth's mistaken

Part Two- Having given my view, I now must commend you on the strength and vibrancy of this poem. It would really and truly make a powerful song's refrain. It has an eerie lasting quality to it... a soul-deep melancholy as well as a just kind of anger. Well-written. 10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Susan, I am humbled and flattered. This poem is one in a series about/for Jack Kerouac. I sincerely believe that I'm receiving spiritual guidance with this project. And your insightful suggestion about a song is very timely. Thank you so very much for such positive and invaluable feedback.

Part One- -I would say that heaven is full of compassion for those on earth but the thing is- -we either have freedom of will or we are puppets on a puppeteer's rack. I believe that we here on earth are responsible for either ignoring those in dreadful need or for helping those who need a helping hand. God says over and over again that we are to love and be kind and help- -but we are free to not love, not be kind, not help. We make earth good or not.

Totally in agreement with you, Susan! As human beings, made in the image of God, it's our responsibility to make this a better place for every one. Let's all stop hurting each other. Let's all start helping each other!

A wonderful write full of passion. Thought provoking that bites at poverty. Yes, no tears, cries and sighs left in heaven.

Raw and intense, what is the point of an afterlife if we cant make this life wonderful for all? . As the world turns in on itself heavens closing up shop. The words leave a lasting impact after being read. Thanks Richard!
