Ripples of pain weave circles round her
Memories sad and stark crucify her
At night she encounters mindless phantoms
Vampires who come to suck her blood
And tear her flesh
She seeks a shelter where she could fall asleep
Breathing dark secrets into her crumpled pillow
When questions rise from all corners
Putting her into a dreadful quandary
She longs to hide
In the remote corners of her self
And wash clean in her own tears
In a quickly darkening world
She looks for a candle flame
To make her ashen heart once more aflame
When torn with the whiplash of life
She longs for a balm to kiss away
The sting of her reeking wounds
From the throes of guilt and sin
She resolves to walk into the calm
Into the serenity of a day's end
Never to be thrown and trampled
Under the hooves of raging beasts
Not to be a toy fit for heartless rogues
Please add '' after '' 'with full of'. in third line. Inadvertently it has been done.
Valsa, this is a magnificent, carefully controlled verse. Your use of language is remarkable. You build from a tense, claustrophobic mood and end on a note of terrific....release. This goes to myfavourites.
Females in our part of the world have been subjected to abuse and injustice since ages. Situation has improved a lot after the doors of education were opened for them, gradually albeit. In a male dominant society, they still have to walk a long way to be at par. The poem, though starts with a heart wrenching description, ends on in an inspiring tone. The last two stanzas are very inspiring, as are the 'Poet's Notes' too.
hope always there to rescue the readers from sinking in tragedies Excellent

A very strong and expressive text, stemming from the spirit of modern human being, especially for a lonely woman who suffers internally and externally, who has no outlet except for writing poetry and depicting the circumstances of the painful reality in an excellent poem.. Wonderful poetry deserves 10 and onto my favorite list..well done

It is no easy to live a life of a woman where thorns are at every nook and corner, seldom they find place to live in peace with self and soul. A thought provoking poem. My pick of lines from your poem: From the throes of guilt and sin She resolves to walk into the calm Into the serenity of a day's end.........
