High On The Back Of Dreams Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

High On The Back Of Dreams

We ride on the back of dreams.
With eyes closed.
To overdose them.
Holding on tight to not let go.
Holding on tight with our eyes kept closed.
Clinging to that back of dreams.
Fearing obstacles to face.
No matter if they can be erased.
Abandoning we do our faith.
To pollinate paths with delusions.
Dismissing conflicts and confusion.
As if not real to face.
Although,
Bumpy is the ride through them to escape.
While keeping fantasized visions to create.

We ride through reality.
Duped and deluded.
With a fear of the truth.
And high on the back of dreams.
We ride through reality.
Duped and deluded.

Fearing obstacles to face.
Abandoning our claiming to be of faith.
And pollinating paths with delusions.
Hoping them to bloom into something faked.
Created to have truth replaced.

We ride through reality.
Duped.

We ride through reality.
High as we can be on the back of dreams.
Duped and deluded with a fear of truth.
Confused.

We ride through reality.
Duped.

We ride through reality.
High as we can be on the back of dreams.
Duped and deluded with a fear of truth.
Confused.
And...
Left mentally abused,
By those who remain amused.

We ride through reality.
High on the back of dreams.
Duped and deluded with a fear of truth.
To be left...
Mentally abused,
By those who remain amused.
To know we will stay conflicted and confused!
