How come the news of late is only bad news and of happy stories now we seldom hear
The news headlines are full of suicide bombings and of war and death stories that make us live in fear
For our own and our kin and our friends safety what is the media to us trying to do?
They sure know how to dramatize a story and everything they tell us is not true.

The media the scare mongers for the Government you keep them scared and make them feel insecure
And our erosion of their rights they will not disapprove of and of their votes we surely can feel sure
We keep ourselves in power by creating fear and mistrust and the media in that no small part does play
It serves us well our talk of war and terror and the bombings that we hear of every day.

How come the news of late is only bad news though bad news serves the present Government well
They have us believe that we are special people and that those who hate us are destined for hell
But they never ask why do those people hate us that is one question that they should ask why?
And we should also ask why we do not see it as terror when our side bomb their cities from the sky?

In their eyes it is we are the bad people two wrongs as we know never make a right
The rose of peace by the weeds has been strangled it could not live when starved of the sunlight
And the media the ally of the power hungry Government tell us the saddest stories every day
Of the innocent victims of the worst type of violence committed by crazy people in Cities far away.
