How I See Words Poem by Meredith B.

How I See Words

Rating: 5.0

I'm not good at math
that's just a fact
the numbers mix and spin
my brain goes off like a siren

But words - I can do words
words make me free as a bird
you can use words in all kinds of ways
there's no right or wrong - it's less of a maze.

Each letter is like a piece of art
like fruit in my mouth - sweet yet tart
words add flavor
words I can savor

Words have feeling
like when a pastor is speaking
words can take you anywhere
they can melt away all your despair

words have depth
words are complex
alliteration and rhymes
words can stop time

books are worlds
made of words -
from lands flowing with milk and honey
to climbing atop the most majestic tree

words are a part of me
they'll never leave
a constant - my problems are solved
no variables involved

words give life
words end strife
words stop combat
can numbers do that?
