How Time Flies! Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

How Time Flies!

Rating: 5.0

Seems like yesterday
That I first raised my eyes
To look at the blue sky
How time flies!

Seems like yesterday
I took my first walk
Holding father's hand
Saw the breaking waves

Seems like yesterday
The first stirring of love
Consumed my young heart
And flowed through each cell

Seems like yesterday
The first silver grey hair
Peeped through my black crown
Marking the onset of old age

Seems like yesterday
My soul began to prepare
For the journey into the unknown
Where my forefathers have gone

How very true. Just when there's still so much I want to do, I look a the clock and know that my time here is winding down. This is a great poem about life's final days. Thank you.
