'' Humans Lie Through Their Teeth '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Humans Lie Through Their Teeth ''

We do take risks,
Take our golden discs,
Mounted on the Voyager craft,
The human denies,
They are filled with lies,
Are we surmising the aliens are daft?

Light years ahead,
Watch where you tread,
The scientists ask, what's the fuss,
In our evolution,
We now face destitution,
Could be, they're more brutal than us.

As what we have now,
Will disappear and how,
Due to neglect and sheer greed,
With nowhere to go,
It will come as a blow,
When we find we have nothing they need?

Why travel far,
They know where we are,
Our creators now see us as blind,
Destroying where we live,
They will not forgive,
They won't mourn the end of our kind.

They'll put up resistance,
To render assistance,
To a species who revel in death,
They will not intervene,
Our behaviour's obscene,
They'll sit by as we take our last breath.

The Human Race,
In our messages to space,
Should have added a funeral wreath,
It's those out there,
We need to beware,
They know,
