I'm holding these tears behind my eyes
And I can't sleep at all
I don't know what to do I'm confused
I've been up all night restless as can be
I look at life's past and these scars on my arms
They tell a story that I can't explain

Here I am hoping I can stop the pain
Even though I know I can't
And I've lost my way home
I'm stuck out in the middle of nowhere
I've tried so hard to find my way home
But I'm so lost I don't know right from left

Everyone tells me they understand this pain
But they don't know the kind of pain I'm feeling
They will never know cause they don't want to listen
Everybody knows who I am but they don't see behind these eyes
Behind the tears that I cry at night
They don't know what these scars represent

I know I am alone
I have me, myself, and I
I am alone in finding my way back home
I am alone fighting this pain
Fighting these tears
And fighting to cut
You don't really know me
You don't live in me
You don't see inside me
So how can you say you understand
When you don't even know the pain I'm feeling
