I Burned The Bridge Poem by Romeo Della Valle

I Burned The Bridge

(A buried past)

I have vague memories
Of an unpleasant past
That burdened my spirit
Leaving no place for
Happiness and so
I burned the bridge
I traveled on for way
To long and walk
On a newly built one
I created on my own!

Nothing can make me
Go back, that is for sure,
Things that happened
And can't be undone
I won't hold on to them
Anymore because I
Have moved on!

From past mistakes
I made have learned
My lessons well and
With renewed strength
Of faith I have fully
Regained the ability
To never look back
Moving in forward
Steps living life content
And connected to
A brighter future
