A Broken Heart - Poem by Romeo Della Valle

Where the ends of life meet
A boundary is broken
Overstepped and outreached
When another creed has spoken...

This is the end for me and you
And that's why it is truly
A new beginning for me
When a sad separation
Is meant to be for both of us!

Have there ever been doubts?
I cannot remember
Anything saved that night
Some years ago since
I met you for the first time!

All that you offered me,
Disguised as happiness
Has been my disbelief
That I should be so blessed...

But still you are asking
That I stay by your side
And so entirely,
When you broke my heart
And tarnished my pride!

Sorry for the broken heart. Writing diminish the pain. This love desire is not worth your heart. Keep searching...One day you'll find a paire of shoes that is right for your feet (a French saying) . The world is wide and humankind's openess is unendless....Love your poems, I shared 2 for the moment, but I have to read all of yours. Thanks for sharing and please continue to write, Romeo....Virginia (Report)Reply

Deep and intense; I love the first stanza as it paints the rawness of reality, regarding the inevitable moments of breakup. Great work! (Report)Reply

Great poem. Pride comes before a fall it's said, although anyone who can forgive the ultimate betrayal, has my admiration, I know I couldn't stay with that person as much as I might forgive them. Great write x (Report)Reply
