I Don't Want To Be A Murderer Poem by Paula Glynn

I Don't Want To Be A Murderer

I don't want blood on my hands
I don't want that mortal sin
Hanging over my soul
Like a curse
That has been cast
By an all vengeful god.

I don't want screams in my mind
I don't want to be left blind
Where I live a saddened life
And always give in
With no awareness of why
Evil tales told by an all vengeful god.

I don't want to cut that tie
Between the all loving god and I
For love does unite
Where there is no hate or spite
And no one to bitterly fight
Revenge taken by an angry god.

I look to the sky
Singing an angel's melody
Knowing I do know why
Because I am that angel
Who is never blind
Living a life where everyone is kind,
Blessed by an all loving god
Who knows there is no blood on my hands.

Because I don't want to be a murderer.
