I Hate To Love You - Poem by Wayne Bowen

With a touch I meet you
each and every day,
when we are together
I hope you will always stay.

I love when you're near me,
I hate you when your're gone
I can never face tomorrow
unless you come along.

I turn my back on everyone to
live from day to day,
the empty shell that I've become
a soul that's gone away.

Each day seeking pleasures
I know will never last,
then the pain and sorrow
bring memories from my past.

I gave myself this prison
a lifetime I will stay,
looking for the pleasure
you bring me every day.
