I Like It Plain Poem by Belle Wassermeister

I Like It Plain

Rating: 5.0

I like those plain and simple words
that say just what they mean.
Why do some poets obfuscate?
Can't someone intervene?

I really must pontificate;
it's gotten out of hand.
Why can't all poets pleasure us
with words we understand?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I really have nothing against big words per se.
What I don't get is poems that are deliberately
obscure or meaningless. If you have something
to tell, just tell it. Don't beat around the bush!

Poetry is a poet's version. Not all are always same So words pour to paint An art explicit Seen with different perspectives Yields vast field to swim. Beautiful notion in picture. Admirations.

I'll personally strive to tone it down in all future compositions! This is a wonderfully scripted piece with lots of didactic elements....congrats, mate!

Oh dear friend...where is the one not understanding a touch? Or the one not understanding the story but getting the moral of it’s intent? You must kiss poetry to connect to its heartbeat, true, riddles and configurations of verse are a broken vessel.....they can be put back to their original form and then our eyes and hearts are both opened gates of understanding
