Poor Mary Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Poor Mary

Rating: 4.7

Poor Mary, my neighbor.
She cries all the time
because her husband,
John, just passed away.

She thinks she will never
see him again.

She doesn't know that all
of God's children will be
resurrected some day.

God knows and loves each
one of us. He knows you
and He knows me.

He knows your name and all
the desires of your heart.

One of my favorite poems is
"When Priscilla Passed"
by Grace Diane Jessen.

It relates a true tale that
happened to one of her relatives.

Mary, please read that poem.
I know that story is true,
because similar things
have happened to me.

Belle, what an absolutely marvellous way to assist in the grieving process. Firstly, to write your very heart warming poem. Secondly, to recommend another's poem to a grieving friend. Just like you, it's happened to me!

Linda, you have a beautiful compassionate soul and you did something I don't think I could do---be gently forthright with a grieving person. Well done and God bless you for pen you used to comfort and guide the bereaved. 5 stars--
