I Love You (A Valentines Day Poem) Poem by Eila Mahima Jaipaul

I Love You (A Valentines Day Poem)

Rating: 5.0

sometimes
on clear still nights
my voice
floats into your bedroom
lunar and fragmented,
as if the sky had let it go
long before the birth of us.
and you'll know, I love you.

I love you,
the way, in a field of sunflowers,
you can see each bloom's
multiple expression of a single idea.

I love you,
the way stained glass
speaks. with lips full
of opium words,
and ocean foam.
trading ink and light,
for skin and bone.

I love you,
in, and out
of dreams.

I love you.

I'll whisper it,
on clear still nights.
and you'll form the words
with your mouth.
