I Opened My Heart To Set My Soul Free. Poem by M. Asim Nehal

I Opened My Heart To Set My Soul Free.

Rating: 5.0

Because I cannot count all the stars
During this lifetime
Hence, I started to like the moon.

Because I cannot count all the waves
During this lifetime
Hence, I started to like the sea.

Because I cannot count all the leaves
During this lifetime
Hence, I started to like the trees

Because I cannot conceive which stem
Will bear the most likable rose
Hence, I started to like the fragrance

Since my pen cannot write everything
Which my mind keeps thinking
I opened my heart to set my soul free.

Then I have moved to read your tis lovely poem. Theme of goodness is reflected in different ways. Your poem carries natural essence of goodness. This is difficult to count all the stars and deeply observe them although we watch them daily. But Moon is specially felt well due to calmness and beauty! This is better to become a sea rather than counting waves.

In thins song you have heartily sung to become sea because you want to inherit and charge the values of Allah within you and us to become so good, so special and very honest. Just I recite Surah Al-Baqarah [2: 218] to feel real hope related to Mercy of Allah. Believing in the way of Allah, a person truly feels the mercy. Allah is ocean of all values. Framing us in his shape is ever necessary!

There are trillions of trees and multiple trillions of leaves and this is difficult to count them. But becoming like a tree you can give leaves, fresh oxygen, flower, fruits, shelter to creatures, shed and selfless service we learn. However the Holy Qur'an describes about the Word Tree in many verses! In this regard I love to recite Surah Hajj - Ayat 18 [22: 18], Muminun - Ayat 20 (23: 20) and Naml - Ayat 60 [27: 60]

In Luqman (31: 27) , Yaseen (36: 80) , Rahman (55: 6) , and in Waqiah (56: 72) we briefly understand the values of trees through valuable learning. Your song's verse is directed towards heart and soul to become a perfect tree rather than leaves is very pleasing. Becoming a rose, the Holy Flower is good but on which stem you should bloom! This is better to become fragrance of values!

Thoughts are many and we want to write many poems. But time is limited as we have short lifespan! We have to do many duties at a time. Thoughts are like unstable sea waves. However we need stability! You are clever enough to set heart and sing song of soul with full freedom and having confidence by mercy of Allah! You have concrete trust. No one can prevent you to sing souls' song!

Memorizing and honouring Prophet Muhammad and divine beauty, rose flower is importantly used as symbol of spirituality in Islam. Fragrance of rose is special. To touch each soul and merciful father Allah, you want to become fragrance of rose. I highly appreciate your wonderful thought reflecting divinity of your mind and trust for Allah! Each stanza in this poem has wonderful dignity!
