I Shall Shoot The Moon Poem by Akhtar Jawad

I Shall Shoot The Moon

Rating: 5.0

It may happen in a moonless night,
It may happen in a bright sunlight,
Or it will be a pleasing twilight,
After a very hot and sweating noon,
Father I promise I shall shoot the moon.

It may happen below a dense cloud,
My high ambitions make me so loud,
One day I shall be your singular proud,
You'll say your daughter is a boon
Mother I promise I shall shoot the moon.

I shall follow you listening to your lectures,
I shall copy humans' most risky adventures,
I shall fight with human's worst caricatures,
To erase the evil shall rise like a typhoon,
Grandmother I promise I shall shoot the moon.

I know I am a fifth daughter in succession,
I know you too this time wanted a grandson,
Kiss my forehead I'll serve you like a son,
You shall see the signs in me very soon,
Grandfather I promise I shall shoot the moon.
