I Talk To God Poem by Paula Glynn

I Talk To God

I talk to God,
Alone in my room,
Sometimes aloud,
Sometimes in quiet prayer,

God always listens,
My soul in his palm,
I do not talk to an invisible man,
But to God that lives in my mind,
Heart and soul,
For he guides me through,
Twists and turns of life,
And situations that never gain control,
For others I need never control,
For God guides my mind,
Heart and soul,

Like a holy man,
I talk to God aloud,
Although I never,
Run naked with the animals,
And I am never mad:
In fact, I couldn't be more,
Rational and sane,
The white light,
Putting me into deep sleep,
Each and every night,

To wake in the morning,
The sun on my face,
Shining bright,
With the promise,
Of a new day,
Where hopes lives on,
And I stay quietly strong,

Talking to God,
I share my thoughts and fears,
Even about the devil coming near,
But God guides me,
Through thick and thin,
To others petty demands,
I never give in,

And I trust God on this path,
My life starting bad,
But becoming good,
With all the friends and life,
To be lived and moments to be had,
No one tricks me,
No one betrays me,
And God guides me,
As I pray to him every day,
Of this turbulent life,
God's spinning ball,
We call earth,
Paradise where we all have worth.
