I Thought You Were My Friend Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

I Thought You Were My Friend

Rating: 5.0

I thought you were my friend,
But hey you let me down.
You lied through your teeth so many times,
Over and over again.

Why was i drawn in by your excuses and lies?
When reality hit, it was one hell of a surprise!
I helped you out from the kindness of my heart,
You've left me reeling, now we've drifted apart.

I thought you were my friend,
That's my lesson learnt,
I'll not make the same mistake, ever again!
Never shall my kindness get burnt.
