I Want... - Poem by Halimah Fatin

I want a man who makes me laugh, someone who makes me smile and makes my heart skip when I see him. A man who is happy when he hears my voice or sees my face and is not afraid to let me know just how happy he is.

I want a man who can’t leave without kissing me goodbye and can’t even say hi until after he has kissed me hello. A man who can’t sleep unless I am laying there next to him and wants my face to be the first thing he sees when he wakes up.

I want a man that no matter how hard I try I can not stay mad at. A man that, even though he wants to be mad at me, can tell when I have had a bad day not because I told him but because he can hear it in my voice or see it on my face and still puts his arms around me and makes that bad day go away without saying a word.

Most of all, I want a man who isn’t afraid to trust me with his heart, someone that I can trust with mine.
