I wasn't called to be like you
Or to be like my sister Sue,
I wasn't called to be like my twin
Only to look like my kin,
I wasn't called to be like my brothers
Or was I called to be like others,
I wasn't called to be like my preacher
Or to be like my favorite teacher,
I wasn't called to be like her
Or to be like a gentleman sir,
I wasn't called to be like him
Or like a boxer in the gym,
I wasn't called to be a farmer
Or a salesman or a charmer,
I wasn't called to be a firefighter
Or to be a writer.
To be honest and very precise
I was called to be like Christ.
