I watch the monsoon clouds
Coming closer to my land to
Alight as rain with a soft sound;
To mingle with rivers and streams
To fill the fields and valleys and to
Roll down rooftops to soak the ground.
I watch the monsoon clouds
Gathering over my land in slow
Paces bearing inside them much rain;
To look dark through day and night
To fill the air with sweet musical notes
To go on dancing along valley and plain.
I watch the monsoon clouds
Flying over the grove towards
A land never to return and pour;
To leave my land dry and parched
To drive animals homewards at noon
To make life miserable with burning floor.
It is really a beautiful poem on rain and monsoon clouds having thrilling expression and amusing diction. Fine penmanship. Each and every line is interesting to read. I quote some lines here..... I watch the monsoon clouds Gathering over my land in slow Paces bearing inside them much rain; To look dark through day and night To fill the air with sweet musical notes To go on dancing along valley and plain.
