One thing that I was taught
It was never to say, that I knew you not,
No matter of your position or the clothes you wear
I will always greet you with a welcoming smile and stare.
Of you I will not ever be ashamed
Our friendship by me will always be claimed,
That's the fact that I will proudly confess
If asked if I knew you, my answer would always be yes.
If we happened to meet upon the street
My smile and joy would be there to greet,
And if you ignored me, of course I would be hurt
But, from you I wouldn't leave or desert.
If I saw you wearing brand new clothes
And if towards the sky was upturned your nose,
If me you were proclaiming to all you never knew
I would proudly always know, that I knew you.
I am not ashamed or embarrassed of you or anyone
Whether in the day or the night or even the early dawn,
No matter of the sins or even the crimes
I will not deny you once, or even three times.
Somethings we cannot ever forgive or even forget
I will not live either in that pain or regret,
And even in the times of suffering and mayhem
I won't ever deny you, either in the morning or the p.m.
