I Won't Be Controlled Poem by Alexie Whitman

I always did what I was told

Never made a move that was too bold

I always listened to what everyone had to say

But never could make out my own way

Always stuck to the status quo

Been always controlled like a robot from head to toe

I lived by the standards of the world

Just to be at least loved?

I don't think all of this was worth this fake "Perfect Life"

Because I need to be happy to at least survive

But I know that I can make a change

And for that I need to break out of these chains

It's time to make the "Bold Move"

Because this colorless life is what I disapprove

Now I will make everyone hear me

And this boring life...was never my cup of tea

I am done solving other people's problems

Because that made me put my life to the bottom

The people of this world only care about wealth

So now I am gonna start listening to myself!



This is your life so do whatever you wish to do; listen to your heart and follow your dreams! Never ever let anyone else control you!
