Ice Cream And Independence Poem by Illustrious Inker

Ice Cream And Independence

Rating: 5.0

What is independence?
Is it having no dependence?
Or our own flag's fragrance?
But it is surely something teenagers do think.

It can mean going out with your friends,
Without your dad's interference.
Or having a bucket of ice cream,
Without having your mom scream.

Does it mean going tenseless?
Or adding strangers to your friend list?
Or does it mean responsibilities?
Like washing utensils if the maid takes a leave.

It means having a healthy balance,
Between utensils and brand new friends.
It means eating ice cream in the rain,
Then going to the doctor with throat pain!
