Idioglossia

Rating: 5.0

Images being fraught,
artists carefully choose
which they use.

Some won't be caught
with a square or a bottle.

Some are labelled
idioglottal.

The only thing I am struggling with is the meaning of 'idioglossia' 'idioglottal'. The first five lines are brilliant concerning images. M. Walker.

and besides what i've already sent in a message to Douglas, let me say: nice rhyming! ! ======================== Doug, I'M glad you've not had submit trouble. ======================== i never thought of images as being fraught. then again, i never thought much in terms of fraught! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Google help: fraught frôt/ adjective adjective: fraught 1. (of a situation or course of action) filled with or destined to result in (something undesirable) . marketing any new product is fraught with danger synonyms: full of, filled with, rife with; attended by, accompanied by their world is fraught with danger 2. causing or affected by great anxiety or stress. there was a fraught silence synonyms: anxious, worried, stressed, upset, distraught, overwrought, worked up, antsy, agitated, distressed, distracted, desperate, frantic, panic-stricken, panic-struck, panicky; beside oneself, at one's wits' end, at the end of one's tether/rope; informalwound up, in a state, in a flap, in a cold sweat, tearing one's hair out, having kittens she sounded a bit fraught ============================ Google again: An idioglossia is an idiosyncratic language invented and spoken by only one person or very few people. Most often, idioglossia refers to the private languages of young children, especially twins, the latter being more specifically known as cryptophasia, and commonly referred to as twin talk or twin speech. ===================================== HOW COME I'VE GOT TO DO ALL THE looking up OF your WORDS! ? ? :) :) ok, so the forms used by some artists [as in painters and sculptors perhaps] are sometimes of their own creation? like the artists are the God? ? sounds true to me. i guess viewers who dislike bottles or squares or anything else already in the real world will have less of a chance of not liking the artwork. very interesting. i'll leave this message as my comment on the poem's page. Idioglossia will now be put into Section B of October's 'a showcase for PH poets'. thanks. and i shall be sure to practice using idioglossia in my daily communications! bri :)

7 by 10. Good to have PH publishing verses which enjoin the reader to think out the images and interpret them. AM
