Idyllic Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Idyllic

Again a poem in my mother tongue, the Dutch language: now translated into English and German

The sun conjures golden rays in my window
this warmth feels pleasant
that heat goes straight through my window
it feels so pleasant

i wonder what's your name
Sure the sun, OK, no blame
I just asked for your name
if you don't want to say it,
okay, no blame.

Think for a moment in how many rays
he must gather
to let me cherish this pleasant one
spoiled for zero cent,
to bathe in this light.

I am still young, I don't have gout yet
but these shine with so much light
is extra luxury for my joining
the sun appears every day
I never looked at it, I could
never find a word of thanks
I have never appreciated,
not even summer under the linden
I could only find trouble
in that intrusive light

suddenly I remember, back in the car
I just got back for a picture
that went via Schiphol
and immediately picked up my husband
was almost lost in the sun
I was enjoying the warm rays intensely
just to enjoy but not appreciated

and now I feel completely honored
by his coming

drizzly weather for days,
never appeared sunrays for weeks
everything damp, cold and numb,
it's November on my legs

and November says everything
about the coldest days
I confess, I did pray
that it will be sunny on my birthday
impossible says the master of the house
he is not God, here Jesus or Moses

I got up early,
the vacuum cleaner at its best
soon I felt the rays through the cracks
I did not want to believe,
real sunshine
I felt so chosen
I could hear my own heartbeat
I diligently first have breakfast
with whole grain

I now testify of God's Wonder
that there is so much sunlight on my birthday
it didn't seem possible after all those icy wet days
but God answered my prayer
in His time and when He finds it correct
I feel so loved by God
all times all days
His Blessings have always come in my chariot
fuller and fuller, but is always possible
more Blessings added
and this car is far from fading away

such long drizzly days
exactly one day of full sun
on my birthday as much as I could
the next morning monsoon rains again here
I had enjoyed it with great pleasure
thank you Lord for again a greatest Blessing

exactly on my birthday, I am as happy as a child again
grown up but always loved
thank you God for this miracle
Thank you and glory to God,
only you whom I admire

I repeat again You gave me the sun on my birthday
greatest gratitude on my part to you
it was a great birthday with so much light
Thank You God, my prayer answered, You are The Light....

today it is already one day further,
even two days after my BirthDay
the heavy rains will not fade yet
yet I thank the Lord every day
for all types of weather....

This year in 2020 there was again only
one day full sun, on my BirthDay again!
All other dayd before and after
had been very very cold, wet and chilly
as November can be

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Why do I know that in all those years
very cold and chilly weathers had been
on my Birthday? I regard every fulfillment as God's greatest Blessings in His Time and that is on my Birthday, so I know that God has fulfilled my prayer asking for just one sunny day on my Birthday and no more.
God heard my prayers in all those years
I got a very sunny day on my Birthday and afterwards it became rainy days and weeks again. I cannot stop when talking about God's greatest Wonders in my life. This poem was written in 2017, then came 2018 also very sunny on my Birthday only, and so it was with 2019 and this year 2020. These greatest wonders I am talking is about the sun on my Birthday. Too many greatest wonders in my life not to believe in God.

As if the Lord confronts me: I have fulfilled all your prayers, they had been one by one greatest Blessings for you, I know you have noticed all the wonders I bestowed upon you
and that's why you have always given testimony about all these occurrences,
my wonders I gave you.
So speaks the Lord to me, I am just saying His words here. Amen.
