If I Am Given Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

If I am given freedom
In expressing wisdom
To people around me
I shall seek their presence under tree

I shall sit under open
Lend patient ears even
Think largely of their advice
And then seeking or giving promises

if our wishes are to be met
we shall offer love and greet
show the will of almighty
and our willingness to follow each word

let people speak from their heart
follow the humanity as an art
express concern for brethren
who shall respect then in turn

I have observed in detail
That no one should be bonded in chain
The almighty gives us no such freedom
But that wishes is respected seldom
