If I should depart
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
If I should depart before you
Tell not the sun
Tell not the moon
That I am gone
And tell the Robin
When he comes home
That I am gone but
To a land unknown
Love him, feed him
That I used to
And in a day or two
He will forget me soon
And if at all he insists too
Tears you roll down
And say I am in heaven
And the heart of gold
May sob a little
When me he shall not find
For upon me his love shines ample
Makes no difference whether
I am here or there
For his sunshine makes me eternal
And the moon may look pale
On hearing her company's farewell
For I am her company best
In moonlight cool,
She is an infinite rest
And the flowers sway and nod
Asking you where I am gone
Break not their heart
Telling I am forever gone
Though I shall be happy and gay in heaven
You will find scattered petals
And broken heart tinted
In the dull light of autumn
The ethos of life orbit round the tracks of love and care and a true poet ever and ever tells the callous world about it Pattanayakji... You too have done the same noble job here. A fine poem and I AWARD 10 MARKS for this crafted piece.
All objects in Nature, both living and non livning will definitely grieve over the departure of a man who loved them! It is said that even plants can identify love! Interesting write!
