If On The Morrow Poem by Jaishree Nair

If On The Morrow

My dear son, if on the morrow I am not there
and you must steer your ship across life's restless sea,
Remember—I shall be the North Star
guiding your way toward your dreams.

Inhale deeply the fragrance of the present;
Exhale the stale burdens of the past.
And let the future be shaped by your deeds.
Dwell on the wisdom etched in time's aged creases,
My love shall always remain
a quiet presence in every step you take.

My concerns may have irritated you at times,
An unwanted intrusion, you may have thought.
You may have felt the tremor of my emotions
but never the depth of love behind the outbursts.
Time may have woven its cocoon around you,
but let it not smother our bond of blood

When worries come knocking at your door
never let despair stain your soul;
Stand tall, strong, and bold.
and face the world with renewed hope,
If tears should fall, let them flow
for even the strongest do sometimes bow.

You can find me in the morning light,
In the stars that shimmer through the night;
In the prayers softly whispered from above,
In the hands that bless with tenderness

Eat healthy, sleep soundly and cherish life's moments,
For your well-being is a gift worth guarding.
Treasure your family, and cherish your friends,
for they are the anchors through life's storms,
the gentle hands that steady your course!

Though my presence may no longer be seen,
my blessings shall walk with you every day.
And wherever life may lead you to roam,
A mother's love shall shelter you from harm.
This is the pledge from a mother's soul:
Beyond sight, beyond time, beyond all knowing,

Remember this, my dear son,
If on the morrow I am not there.
