If Only.. Poem by Paul Sebastian

If Only..

Rating: 5.0

If only I were rich, I would travel the whole world
If I were a leader, I would serve the people
If only I were an orator, my speeches would be bold
If I were a CEO, I would be well settled

If only I were married, I would have many children
If I were a father, I would want to be a great father
If only I were a singer, I would get children to listen
If I were a good cook, I would make a great dinner

If only I were married, I would be the ideal husband
If I ever wanted to marry, I would marry a homemaker
I’d build my dream house by the lake on grandpa’s land
Walk in the forest, watch sunset, be an outdoor camper

If only I were a teenager, I would play in the rain
Make and fly a kite, spin a top or build a tree-top house
Swim naked, fish or go boating in the lake, all again
If I were a youth again, I would take up a medical course

If I were a doctor, I would serve working among the poor
Bring better living conditions, better the health standards
If I were a doctor, I would work on health wellness, for sure
Educate people on healthcare and its life-long rewards

If I were to live long, I would live my life worthwhile
I would immerse myself in some social service projects
If I had a chance, I would be a motivator changing lifestyles
If only I were a youth again I would live doing my life’s best!

Mmmm, if only I was a man i would look for a wife not a woman to be my companion. I will keep on reading this poem again and again. Thank you Paul

The beauty of a new day, a new beginning has just begun. Every new beginning may create an opportunity for a new big thing. People have done the most fantastic things in old age. I hope, my friend sufficient health is with you, to still enjoy many of the great the things you state in this wonderful poem.

The poem is an advice to the youth, to rightly use their time and not to waste a single second. Loved reading and commenting A lovely poem indeed
