I'll Wake You Poem by Kewayne Wadley

I'll Wake You

Take me anywhere
So many things to see, so many places
We can be.
Anywhere but here.
Anywhere but here.
Just to get away
Don't really have a reason
But if you want to
I'd love to have you come with?
Something fun, a little more exciting
Than where we are now?
Going somewhere nostalgic
Filled with mermaids wearing shades.
Take me anywhere, just not home
Or anywhere near it.
Follow the signs on the interstate
We're less than eighty miles away
If you fall asleep by the time we get there
I'll wake you.
Soon we'll be there anywhere but home.
Anywhere but here
