Weeping Willow

Images of my face
reflects back at me
in the mirror
Shadows cast a deepen

With a tilt of my head
Blink of my eyes
Suddenly it's you
I see
Staring back at me

Your eyes blend in with mine
The contour of your face
comes alive in me
Split in two
My mothers face blends
with mine

She often comes through
my eyes
In the shadows of the mirror
Reflecting her face
upon mine
I see her traits in my eyes
Even in my smile
Slowly in the reflections
inside the mirror
Her face becomes
We are transparently mixed
between the shadows of a
vacant mirror
Reflecting each light into
the sphere shaped night
Where in a moment of time
We are one
Seeing her face in mine.

Fascinating poem, I really enjoyed it! I too have looked in the mirror and seen my mother's face on mine. It's eerie at times, but we're so closely related our reflections cannot help but be the same. Just that one moment of time shows us the reality of our beings to our mothers. Thank you for sharing.
