Implementing The Familiar Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Implementing The Familiar

Folks are uptight.
Outraged, offended, disgusted...
And protest that their entitlements,
Are being threatened by socialism.
If not for President Franklin D. Roosevelt,
Implementing 'social' programs...
To benefit the needs of the people,
When times required changes made.
Leaving those who feel,
What they have taken for granted...
By a definition used,
Describing their lives lived to be as is.
Should pick up a dictionary.
And learn the only difference,
Between words used to mean the same thing...
Is the spelling of them.
Like bigotry and racism.
Stupidity and ignorance.
The observation still delivers familiar results!
Deception done to do some call lies.
Truth denied to hide the facts,
Does not change the act!
