In A Better Lived World Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In A Better Lived World

In a better lived World.
Not perfect.
But 'this close' to it.
Would perhaps be deserving,
If served...
By those of diverse backgrounds.
And having had acquired experience,
Known competence and shown discipline...
In the military, performing arts.
With a conducted focus on business.
Seriously meant intended to do this.

To have obtained reliable credibility.
No one disputes or questions.
And more qualified,
To sit in positions of leadership.
Than the ones repeatedly elected and picked.
For their ability to impress.
Glad hand and smile quick.
Publicly discuss,
Established college relationships.

Yet...
Collectively together,
Seem incapable to use common sense.
Although...
Knowledgeable in debating themselves.
Into conflicts, division and confusion.
With a doing to create,
Havoc, chaos and at an expense...
Of taxpayers who are promised,
The benefits of this achieves...
A quality of life,
No one else on Earth...
Can believe with such envy.
And overwhelmed they are with jealousy!

"Can you believe we live like this? "

-No!
Remind me, again! -
