'In The Dark Of Night...' - Poem by Hayley Oxborough

In the dark of night
The voices call your name
Do you hear them?
Are your ears full of pain?
And the sound of laughter
Of joyful summer songs
are lost in the dream
Forever floating helplessly
Hoping not to fall
on deaf ears
But to be heard
As softly as the wings
Of a low flying bird
Caught in the breeze.
But thats the dream
And only then will the sound
Ever fill your mind
As your sleeping
The pain resigns.
