Watch how I gather the song
Bringing it to my lips
Tasting the fresh pressed notes
Like over ripened grapes
Sucking the sweetness
To quench my soul
In the merry of the music
And the softness
Of a sheer flowing skirt
My hair detangled of thought
Feathered feet
Dancing on the edge of abandon
Synchronized to the rhythm
Of joy, of answered questions...
Time escapes on a moonbeam monorail
Leaving a lasting melody
To circle the track of my mind
Kind, the lyrics
Friends of mine
I welcome the revisit
Of days I kept vaulted
To twirling in lifted fog
The sea of song breaks my shore
My shoulders shawled
Warm in the wash of pure harmony
That reaches beyond the scope
Of my usual horizon
To give my eyes, my heart
My dreams new direction to dance
In the merry of the music
Me
Watch how I gather the song, in the merry of the music, of days I kept valued. Really very beautifully expressed every line. I find this poem more valuable and expressive in nature. Thanks for sharing.

This poem is brilliant! What a cascade of metaphorical language! I loved the way you found so many metaphors and let them carry the weight of meaning. I especially liked the second stanza with DANCING ON THE EDGE OF ABANDON. That's the kind of experience in dancing that might get an old stick in the mud like myself on my feet! I also liked the metaphor of TIME in the penultimate stanza (I lost count of stanzas!) , but it is the last stanza where your figurative language takes flight and brings the whole poem to a fulfilling end. It's just breath-taking!
