Intensity Matters Poem by Gerald Opio

Intensity Matters

Intensity matters, what use would it be to me if your words lack intensity.
Nonetheless, what would intensity of wordings mean to me,
If they lack integrity.

But intensity still means a lot to me,
'I love you' lacks intensity,
But I love you very much, is so assuring - satiating a sturdy heart.
Intensity matters.

When someone does not believe you, intensity of words you resort to.
This you say, 'I am a very trustworthy person' - so transparent.
Intensifiers like 'very' or 'so' - bail you out.
Intensity matters.

Innocent you are, but believing they don't.
Intensifying, you portray how innocent you are - reiterating with intensity you say, 'I am very innocent'.
Intensity matters.
