Internet Lover Poem by Alison Smith

Internet Lover

Rating: 4.8

Met a man across the net
He makes me feel so special
Always sends his love to me
And holds my dreams a priority

He has a girl he has met
I want them to be a couple
We still will have this special bond
But his time will be for her.

Take care my special friend
We may not talk as much
But all your hopes and dreams
I hope they all come true.

For now I'll never meet this man
The time we spent was special
We shared our ups and downs
And will never forget each other.

I have to agree with Allie on this one. I, too, have made friends with people on the internet. I can admire and respect their work, and become quite close through messaging and emailling. I can even feel excited when I find that they have the same thought processes as I have. But true love, in my opinion, can only be achieved when we actually meet up. A thought-provoking poem, generous in its attitude. Well done, Alison. Love, Fran xxx

You describe one of the hazards of sites like this one. It's too easy to become involved in ether relationships which can threaten those day to day ones of flesh and blood. I wonder if in fact one can fall in love with pure mind? It's an interesting proposition. My gut feeling is 'no'. You see, love is about pheromones, the visual, the aural and the kinesthetic too. The other is about romantic ideals and often fiction, it seems to me. A well thought out piece which certainly has me thinking... love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxx

Alison, I know exactly where your coming from on this one. I loved this poem. People can make you feel very special without you ever meeting them, except on the net. GREAT poem. David

It happens more than people think, , This is one reason the net can be so addictive, The person on the other end of the key board always looks great, For example what do you think I look like? being 45 years? over weight? short? Physical limited etc? ? .. Not to get to far out....there great write with a nice thought. All the best to you Howard

Like the generous quality of your soul speaking here Alison, internet lovers can be special but we all need the real feelings of touch and smell don't we? I think what you wrote here was so generous and loving. HG: -) xx
