Interviewer Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Interviewer

Rating: 5.0

Can you work legally in Canada?
In yr past postions, how many breaks did you have?
How much did you make on yr last job?
Can you see yr last pay stub?
What benefits did you get?
Why were you let go?
Why am I asking?
I don't know
I must ask everyone these questions
I am just following protocols
When will you know if you get the job, you asked
I don't know I still have others
But before you go
Can you pee in this cup?
We don't like addicts

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Be confident of yourself when you face any interview. An interviewer may be a subject expert but not a literature expert. In a nutshell, the simplicity and truthfulness of your communication matters a lot

This is just brilliant, LeeAnn. As a society, we've fetishized bureuacratic authority to the point that its behaviour is completely unregulated, and serves only to chase skill and talent away from productive ventures.
